Are You Planting Seeds?

Are seeds appealing or a thing of beauty to look at? But do you go ahead and plant them? They have no outward beauty of their own. Everything for the harvest of a seed is held inside the seed coat, and this seed coat is reasonably tough. However, to benefit from the harvest of the seed it must be planted in the soil. Then the soil around the seed must be watered and kept moist. The moisture around the seed, the soil and weather, heat and cold, light, and dark all play a part in the process of the seed germinating and its life beginning to break out, develop and grow.

So, it is with us. Our lives, our purpose, and our destiny.

We too were a seed sown into the soil of a womb, where we were hidden in darkness, nourished, and held safely through the external seasons of life that affected our growth. Then came the day of our birth. It is the ongoing progressive visible signs of our growth and development revealing the beauty of either the man or woman that had been hidden in the seed sown into the soil of the womb.

Is God a Sower? He has and is continually planting “Seed”. God’s seed is life and light to all mankind. God said, “Let there be light and there was Light” (Genesis 1:3). The Light of God was sown into the chaos and darkness that had covered the earth. God planted His eternal “seed” of Light to break the darkness. God’s Word is His “Seed”. God has never stopped speaking, His Word is living and active to bring life and light to all men, to break the darkness.

Isaiah 55:11 NIV

so is My word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

“God planted His eternal “seed” of Light to break the darkness.”

God’s Living Word, Jesus, in us brings light in the darkness. When His word is conceived and grows in us, New Life is born and the beauty, purpose and destiny of our lives is revealed from day to day. But as in all nature, all life reproduces after its kind. God has sown His Living Word into the earth and in us His people who He created in His life-giving image. Now we have been instructed to “Be fruitful, multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and over every living creature that moves upon the earth” (Genesis 1:28), by speaking “Life” according to His Living Word.

Are you planting seeds? Our life-giving words are seeds of life, light and hope that we plant into the darkness around us. We must all keep planting seeds that will reproduce His life-giving Light. Sow seeds of life into your children, your family, your friends, your neighbors, colleagues, those in authority around us and all those who walk around in the darkness. Teach your children to speak life and be Sowers of life-giving words of life and Light.

We all need the life-giving Light of the world Who dispels the darkness because the darkness cannot apprehend Him.
